Scaphoideus dentarcus sp. nov. (Figs 1–12) Description. Body mottled brown (Figs 1–4). Head including eyes slightly narrower than pronotum. Eyes dark brown to grayish, ocelli white. Crown largely yellowish white, anterior margin with three alternating white and dark bands, medially with a large transverse brownish band. Face as long as wide, brownish yellow, with four alternating dark and white arcuate stripes between bases of antennae and dorsal margin. Pronotum brownish. Mesonotum brownish yellow with median and lateral margins yellowish white. Scutellum yellowish-white, transverse suture depressed, 4 dark brown marks at its corners. Forewing yellowish brown, with hyaline spots outlined with dark brown, three reflexed veins along costal margin, and large irregular brown false eyespot present. Male genitalia. Pygofer elongated in lateral view, longer than subgenital plate, apex truncate (Fig 5). Subgenital plate narrow, much longer than width at base, more or less evenly tapered to sharply pointed apex, with three basolateral macro setae. Valve wider than long, broadly triangular (Fig 6). Aedeagus in ventral view with shaft broad at base, triangular, tapering point; processes parallel (Fig 7). Aedeagus in lateral view with shaft short and evenly curved dorsad with pair of stout, evenly tapered and curved dorsal processes (Fig 8). Connective in dorsal view Y-shaped, stem longer than arms, posterior processes elongate, nearly parallel sided and slightly divergent, apices evenly tapered mesad; in lateral view with processes evenly curved dorsad (Figs 9, 10). Style with preapical lobe short and broad, apophysis slender, tapered and gradually curved laterad (Fig 11). Measurements. Length (including tegmen). ♂, 7.0 mm. Material examined. Pakistan. 1♂ (Holotype), Gilgit-Baltistan, District Ghanche, Kharfaq, 30 August 2023, coll. Riaz Hussain (GUGC). Etymology. The species name dentarcus is derived from the Latin words dent- meaning “tooth” and arcus meaning “bow” or “curve,” referring to the prominent tooth-like structure and curved appearance of the aedeagus when viewed laterally.
