THE IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP STYLE ON PROJECT GOAL IN MOGADISHU SOMALIA
Abstract Leadership style plays a critical role in determining project success, influencing team performance, decision-making, and goal attainment. This study examines the impact of leadership styles on project goal achievement in Mogadishu, Somalia, focusing on transformational, transactional, and autocratic leadership approaches. The research evaluates how leadership behaviors shape project outcomes, team motivation, and organizational effectiveness. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected through surveys and interviews with project managers, employees, and stakeholders in selected private organizations. The findings indicate that transformational leadership positively influences project success by enhancing team motivation, communication, and adaptability. Transactional leadership is effective in structured environments where performance is monitored through rewards and penalties, while autocratic leadership can hinder creativity and team engagement. Additionally, cultural and contextual factors unique to Mogadishu significantly impact leadership effectiveness. The study emphasizes the need for project managers to adopt flexible leadership styles that align with project requirements and team dynamics. Recommendations include leadership development programs, enhanced decision-making strategies, and fostering a collaborative work environment to improve project performance. These findings provide valuable insights for project managers, policymakers, and organizations aiming to optimize leadership effectiveness in project management.
