Reforming English Language Assessment Practices in India: Challenges in the Current Education System

It is a challenge to the language teachers to teach English in the present scenario. It is foundthat the teachers feel difficult to achieve their goals. This paper deals with the importance of teaching English to fulfill the ever-growing demands of present scenario. There are differentmethods and approaches adopted by the teachers in the past to teach English language, the lacunae in their language teaching which is the second language for both teacher and students is discussed. Challenges and tasks before teachers in the present-day ELT are taken up in this study
