Liver. Its biological significance
The liver is a vital organ with numerous critical functions essential to maintaining homeostasis in the body. As one of the largest and most complex organs, it plays a central role in metabolic processes, detoxification, protein synthesis, and regulation of blood clotting. The liver is responsible for processing nutrients from food, converting them into energy, and storing glycogen for future use. It also synthesizes important proteins like albumin and clotting factors, which are crucial for the body’s defense mechanisms and overall health
