A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF METAPHORS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK PROVERBS
This study conducts a comparative analysis of metaphors found in English and Uzbek proverbs. By examining 100 proverbs from each language, it identifies both universal and culturally specific metaphorical patterns. The findings show that while many metaphors arise from shared human experiences, cultural, environmental, and historical factors strongly influence their differences. Understanding these variations contributes to cross-cultural communication and cognitive linguistics.
