Li-Fi Enabled Communication Framework for Inter- Networking

In recent years, advancements in wireless communication have paved the way for innovative technologies in intelligent transportation systems (ITS). One such emerging technology is Light Fidelity (Li- Fi), which utilizes visible light for high-speed, secure, and interference-free data transmission. This project focuses on the implementation of Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication using Li-Fi technology to enhance road safety and enable real-time data exchange between vehicles. The proposed system integrates various sensors, including gas, ultrasonic, and vibration sensors, to continuously monitor environmental and vehicular parameters. These sensors are connected to an Arduino UNO microcontroller, which processes the collected data. In case of critical events such as an accident, gas leakage, or obstacle detection, the system triggers an emergency button and transmits alert signals using Li-Fi communication. The transmission process involves converting data into light pulses through LEDs (Tx), which are then received by a solar panel (Rx) acting as a photodetector on the receiving vehicle. The received signals are processed by another Arduino UNO, which activates a buzzer and display unit to notify the driver of potential hazards. This Li- Fi-based V2V communication system offers several advantages over conventional radio frequency (RF) communication, including higher data transfer speeds, lower interference, enhanced security, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the use of Li-Fi in vehicular communication can reduce network congestion in urban areas and improve the reliability of inter-vehicle data exchange. By enabling seamless, low-latency communication between vehicles, this project contributes to the development of safer and smarter transportation systems, ultimately reducing road accidents and enhancing overall driving efficiency. This research highlights the feasibility of Li-Fi as an alternative to traditional wireless communication in the automotive industry and demonstrates its potential for future applications in autonomous vehicles and smart city infrastructure.
