The Role of Nutrition in Preventing Chronic Diseases

Nutrition has been identified as a key element in chronic disease prevention,Such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. The present study discusses the advantages Of healthy dietary patterns, including the Mediterranean and DASH diets, and the obstacles To following these practices, such as disparities in access to healthy foods and the greatest Prevalence of diets with high ultra-processed food content.Material and Methods: A Literature review was Done as per PRISMA guidelines. Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science Were searched, and the articles included studied dietary patterns, nutrition interventions, and Their relationships with chronic disease prevention. Results and Discussion: The review Highlighted how balanced diets can reduce metabolic risk factors. However, structural barriers, Such as the high cost of healthy foods and gaps in public policies, hamperTheir implementation. Individualized interventions and nutritional education throughout the Life cycle were highlighted as promising approaches. Intersectional collaboration was Considered essential to creating healthier food environments
