DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS THROUGH ROLE PLAYING ACTIVITIES ASSESSME

This paper explores the effectiveness of role-playing activities in developing speaking skills among language learners. Speaking is a crucial component of language proficiency, and learners often face challenges such as lack of confidence, limited vocabulary, and fear of making mistakes. Role-playing offers a dynamic and interactive method to overcome these barriers by placing students in real-life communicative situations. Through role-play, learners practice conversational patterns, improve fluency, and develop pragmatic competence in a supportive environment. This study highlights various role-play techniques, the benefits they provide, and practical suggestions for integrating them into language classrooms. The findings suggest that regular use of role-playing activities significantly enhances learners’ speaking abilities, motivation, and overall communicative competence.
