Quantum Simulation of Grand Unified Theory Baryogenesis, A Proof-of-Concept Study Bridging Cosmology and Quantum Computing

We present the first quantum simulation of a baryogenesis model using real quantum hardware. Baryogenesisexplains the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of our universe, a phenomenon that requires CP-violation amongSakharov’s conditions. We develop a novel quantum algorithm that directly encodes particle decay processes withCP-violation, implementing it on IBM’s superconducting quantum processors. Our approach provides a particle-levelperspective that complements classical Boltzmann equation methods, offering new insights into how microscopicCP-violating interactions propagate to macroscopic asymmetries. We demonstrate a proof-of-principle simulation ofa simplified SU(5) GUT-inspired model, comparing classical numerical solutions with both quantum simulator andhardware results. Despite current hardware limitations, our algorithm shows promising agreement with theoreticalpredictions and establishes a foundation for more complex quantum simulations of early universe processes as quantumhardware advances
