DATA MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE INNOVANTIBIOFILM PROJECT
The Data Management Plan (DMP) outlines the datasets collected and generated during the InnovAntiBiofilm project, funded under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02-01 Twinning initiative. It establishes the consortium's data management policies, ensuring proper handling of these datasets. This project focuses on developing sustainable adjuvant agents to boost antibiotic effectiveness against biofilm-related infections, leveraging the biosynthesis of plant-derived molecules and the strategic development of their enhanced derivatives. Core elements of InnovAntiBiofilm include cutting-edge scientific research, capacity building, talent cultivation, networking, inclusivity, and strengthening research management and administration. The DMP is structured according to the Horizon Europe DMP template [1] and describes the status of data collected, processed, or generated, including the methodologies and standards applied. It specifies how this data will be shared, whether it will be made openly accessible, and how it will be curated and preserved. This initial version of the DMP sets forth the overarching policies and strategies for data management within InnovAntiBiofilm. It addresses administrative and technical aspects, such as data and metadata collection, open data publication, repository infrastructure, and adherence to the Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe (OpenAIRE) framework. The document details the project's data governance, including the types of data anticipated, plans for ensuring accessibility and reusability, curation and preservation strategies, and considerations for ethical, privacy, and security concerns. Additionally, it aligns with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) for effective data management [2]. Moreover, all data collected during the InnovAntiBiofilm project will be compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which governs how personal data of EU residents is processed, stored, and transferred. Under the regulation, any personal information gathered must only be used for specific purposes, such as newsletters, event registrations, and surveys. As a dynamic and evolving resource, the DMP will be updated throughout the project’s duration. Future iterations will refine policies, provide additional details on collected and generated datasets, and ensure alignment with emerging needs. Project partners are encouraged to consult the DMP regularly and contribute feedback to maintain its accuracy and relevance.
