Bridging Compliance and Agility: Hybrid Methodologies for Financial IT Projects
Abstract:- Due to heightened competition, many multinational financial IT projects are adopting agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban to increase speed, responsiveness, and innovation in the digital economy. Financial institutions must ensure compliance with myriad regulatory frameworks like Basel III, GDPR, and SOX while también is trying to compress its development cycles. This research analyses the shift from Waterfall to Agile and hybrid approaches in highly controlled financial services environments. We apply new governance paradigms that balance Agile appropriateness with compliance and audit requirements by simultaneously focusing on iterative methods to security and business needs. Advocating for flexibility, we use the phrase "market-shifting" trends in the mature and volatile industry. This research synthesizes academic literature and business case studies to detail success factors and barriers in corporate settings, such as management buy-in, training, pilot programs, and cultural fit. In what follows, we offer a comprehensive project management solution that integrates lean-Agile philosophies and compliance with rigorous regulatory controls and documentation needs. This approach facilitates scheduled delivery, continuous feedback, and mandatory governance reviews, allowing financial institutions to innovate rapidly while adhering to strict regulatory frameworks. Keywords — Governance of projects, security response, management of projects, achievement criteria, agile evolution, Gantt chart, mixed development approach, finance IT projects, and agile frameworks.
