Cinematic Expressions of an Existential Triad: A Phenomenological Reading of Oneliness, Anxiety, and Limerence
This essay explores, via a phenomenological reading (affirmed by human–LLM dialogues) of resonant figments from twenty-two films, an existential triad of oneliness, anxiety, and limerence, modeling it as a helical spiral. The analysis attends to the viewer’s entanglement with characters and the embodied experience of inhabiting a film’s atmosphere, presenting the triad as a semantic field across a corpus of films that privilege experiential depth over narrative closure. In resisting the reduction of cinematic storytelling to a sequence of staged events, it yields a hermeneutic framework for lucid cinema that unveils the affective undercurrents beneath narrative.
