Personality characteristics of communicative behaviour of adolescents with tendency to aggression
Different issues related to communicative behaviour are considered to be very important in psychology today. At present, the studies of peculiarities of normative communicative behaviour in adolescence come to the foreground in psychological science. It is accounted for by the fact that it is at this age that certain personal qualities and features manifest themselves. Among them are increased emotionality and impulsiveness, intolerance and aggressiveness. The tendency to aggression, shown by adolescents in interpersonal communication, inevitably leads to the formation of destructive communicative behaviour. The purpose of the research was to study personal characteristics of communicative behaviour of adolescents with a tendency to aggression. Eighty seven 15‑16 year old ninth grade students (49 girls and 38 boys) from two general education institutions of Tula took part in the empirical study. A scale of hostility, a technique for diagnosing the potential of communicative impulsiveness, a test to determine communicative skills, a questionnaire of communicative tolerance, and a technique to study the level of empathy were used as a diagnostic material. The results obtained enable to state, that the communicative behaviour of adolescents with a tendency to aggression is largely determined by the personal qualities of the adolescents themselves, among them is impulsiveness of emotional reactions, a combination of high values of cynicism and hostility with extremely low values of communicative tolerance in the process of communication, low ability to emotional response.
