HIV VACCINE DEVELOPMENT

Over the past forty years, there have been numerous obstacles to the development of an HIV vaccine. All efficacy trials to date have shown unsatisfactory results despite sustained efforts. Due to this, the sector is again back in the discovery stage, and it is unclear how big pharmaceutical corporations will continue to be involved. Startup biotech companies currently dominate the HIV vaccine market, despite a complicated array of challenges. These include changes in HIV prevention strategies, declining interest in vaccine research, and challenges in obtaining long-term funding. This point of view examines the difficulties these biotech firms encounter and the systems of support required to enable them to continue working on HIV vaccine research. We offer a multifaceted strategy that incorporates improved communication, encouraging innovation, and putting strategic plans into action by drawing on ideas from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
