OS DESAFIOS DA MATERNIDADE ATÍPICA: UMA ANÁLISE CLÍNICA

This study aims to understand the challenges faced in atypical motherhood, recognizing its singularities and emotional, social, and practical implications. Motherhood, as a complex phenomenon, involves not only biological transformations but also profound identity, affective, and cultural changes. In the case of atypical motherhood, experienced by mothers of children with conditions that deviate from typical development, these transformations become even more intense, requiring the constant redefinition of maternal experiences and roles. This research is qualitative in nature and methodologically based on bibliographic analysis, drawing from academic and scientific publications from recent years. The study analyzed aspects such as the social construction of motherhood, the emotional impacts of atypical maternal experiences, and the importance of resilience, empathy, and care in the mother-child relationship. The results highlight the urgent need for social and institutional recognition of these experiences, as well as public policies that provide emotional and practical support to these mothers. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of encouraging new research that deepens the understanding of the various dimensions of atypical motherhood and contributes to more inclusive and humanized practices. Keywords: atypical motherhood; maternal challenges; resilience; empathy; care
