Data for: Mapping groundwater-related flooding in urban coastal regions

The dataset contains all the data used in the associated article “Mapping groundwater-related flooding in urban coastal regions” by Marshall et al. (2025). The study period is from 2015 to 2023 and is located in the central part of Nouakchott, Mauritania. This study is part of the EIRA research project, Enhancing Infrastructure Resilience to Flooding using Afforestation The Case of Nouakchott city, Mauritania. More information can be found on the project website: https://eira.epfl.ch/All the analysis presented in the paper were performed using the Google Earth Engine Platform. The Google Earth Engine code is available here: https://code.earthengine.google.com/778058d5357dffd51e76f3ce5befe5a5The dataset contains both inputs (DTM, extents, flood observations, groundwater level measurements, training and validation data) and outputs (estimated flooded area rasters, estimated flooded area timeseries) of the analysis described in this study, and can be used for reproducing the findings. This research was funded by the cluster Grant from the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) at EPFL.
