LITERARY EDUCATION FROM A PERSPECTIVE PAULO FREIRE'S SOCIAL-CRITICISM: READING TO HUMANIZE
This study aims to reflect on the practice of reading literature from a socio-critical perspective of Paulo Freire. The study is a qualitative research of a bibliographic nature. The data collection procedure was based on a bibliographic review of Paulo Freire's main works and some classic and contemporary works on literature. In the data analysis, we carried out an interpretative and critical analysis of the concepts emphasized by Paulo Freire, in order to situate the concepts left by this author and their influences on the teaching of reading literature. The results of this research highlighted the importance of promoting literary education from a socio-critical perspective, enabling liberation through awareness and dialogue. We conclude that thinking about literature reading practices in schools is crucial, as reading literature taught in a critical way can transform society.
