Analysing The Cyber Crime Awareness Through The Impact Of Education, Age, And Internet Usage On Cybersecurity Knowledge And Practices

ABSTRACT Cybercrime refers to illegal activities that specifically target or use a computer, computer network, or networked device. The majority of cybercrimes are perpetrated by cybercriminals or hackers seeking financial gain. However, at times, the primary objective of cybercrime is to inflict harm on computers or networks for purposes beyond financial gain. In today's world, technological advancements are always evolving, leading to a significant increase in cybercrime and hacking operations. Research indicates that cybercrime is the most rapidly expanding category of crime. Cybercrimes impact the lives of millions globally, including enterprises, organisations, and governments across many countries. The global population of computer users is very high. Technological advancements are escalating daily, with each passing second contributing to this growth. The growing incorporation of web technologies into daily life, along with the prevalence of social networks and advancements in mobile technology, fosters an ideal setting for many forms of cybercrime and the proliferation of illicit online material. Children and teens constitute the most enthusiastic consumers of new technologies and functions, while simultaneously being the most naïve demographic within the population. The general people is inadequately informed about the gravity of the issue. The objective of this study is to raise awareness about contemporary cybercrimes and to promote heightened cybersecurity measures. This article seeks to examine the knowledge of cybercrime among internet users across various age groups and educational backgrounds
