FORM 2024: Boosting MENA Research Visibility with Persistent Identifiers
Adopting persistent identifiers (PIDs) for research outputs and resources significantly enhances their visibility and ensures alignment with FAIR data principles. PIDs are unique, permanent identifiers that enable the accurate identification and citation of research outputs over time. This is crucial for Open Research, as it allows researchers to share their work more broadly while effectively tracking its impact. In his presentation at the 2024 Forum for Open Research in MENA, held at Qatar National Library in Doha, Mohamad Mostafa emphasized the importance of linking repositories with DOIs to support global discoverability and accessibility.
