Comparative Historical Analysis and International Relations
To say that I was looking forward to The Grammar of Time is an understatement. Over the last two decades at conferences and universities, I have often heard references to “Marcus Kreuzer,” followed by excited commentary on comparative and historical methods. On occasion, I even had a chance to hear elements of Kreuzer’s presentations. I have been searching for a seasoned guide to walk me through the rugged landscape of comparative historical analysis (CHA) and I’m glad the wait is over. Grammar of Time is a tour de force that both traverses the complexities of comparative and historical research in political science and provides a roadmap to navigate a disparate methodological landscape in the pursuit of new and deeper understandings of the past and present.
