A study on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (2019-25) - Case Study of Arnala Village of Palghar District

Abstract: Rising unemployment is a global issue. Unemployment rate in a country is an important economic indicator of development of an economy. Indian government has implemented various prgrammes and schemes for generating employment in India. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural employment Guarantee Act was launched with objective of creating employment to the jobless people. Various literatures show that it has made significant impact on livelihood of people. Palghar is a tribal district of Maharshtra. Arnala is a small coastal village situated on the western coast of Palghar district of Maharashtra. This paper focuses on examining current status of MNREGA in Arnala village of Palghar District.
