Comparative Seismic Analysis of a High-Rise RCC Building Provided with the Shear Wall and Bracing System
This manuscript explores the analysis of an RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) high-rise building incorporating a shear wall and bracing system, designed for seismic Zone V conditions. With the rapid pace of urbanization and the increasing scarcity of land in urban regions, the demand for constructing high-rise buildings is on the rise. Tall structures require an effective structural system to withstand lateral loads. Various structural systems are commonly utilized to stabilize high-rise buildings, including the outrigger system, tube system, bundled tube system, core shear wall system, fluid viscous damper system, and bracing systems. Among these, lateral bracing systems are particularly effective for buildings ranging from 30 to 40 stories, as they enhance lateral strength and stiffness to meet serviceability and design requirements. Bracing systems also significantly improve a building's displacement capacity. This research aims to determine the most suitable seismic provisions for stabilizing RCC buildings based on seismic zone criteria. Using ETABS software, this study will analyze seismic Zone V to evaluate the optimal placement of the shear wall and bracing system, focusing on structural responses such as story drift, story displacement, and base shear.
