"IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE NON-RACIST, ONE MUST BE ANTI-RACIST": SYSTEMATIC REVIEW ON PHYSICAL EDUCATION
This study expands the discussion on the teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture and education for ethnic-racial relations (EERR) in school physical education (PE), analyzing the emergence of anti-racism in academic production within Brazilian postgraduate programs. It presents the following research question: How is the concept of anti-racism incorporated into the field of PE within Brazilian postgraduate programs? The research follows a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) inspired by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol. The search was conducted in the Theses and Dissertations Catalog (TDC) of the Brazilian Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). Out of 218 studies found, duplicates, those unrelated to the theme, and those unavailable for download were excluded, leaving four dissertations for analysis. To interpret and synthesize the data, we used content analysis combined with graphical and tabular representations, allowing us to evaluate different approaches to anti-racism in PE and construct the review text. The results indicate a growth in research on EERR and PE in recent years. As a contribution, six pillars for an anti-racist PE are identified: Black Feminism, Quilombola Education, Decolonial Education, Social Justice, Racial Equity, and the implementation of Law 10.639/03. The study highlights the importance of curricula and pedagogical practices aimed at promoting racial equity, emphasizing the power of incorporating the concept of anti-racism into research in PE.
