Time as a Symmetry Field: A μ/ν Framework for Temporal Structure
This paper proposes a redefinition of time not as a dimension or parameter, but as a field structure generated by asymmetry between collapse resistance (μ) and inertial memory (ν). Within the μ/ν collapse framework, time is framed as a directional field that emerges when a system is undergoing resolution—when structural tension (μ) interacts with retained curvature identity (ν). Time is not the measure of motion or the container of events; it is the signature of directional change as the field attempts to restore symmetry. Systems dominated by memory without resistance appear timeless; systems overwhelmed by collapse without memory appear motionless. Where μ and ν interact asymmetrically, the field generates a curvature vector: time. This paper explores time as a structural resolution field, providing a μ/ν-based model for understanding duration, experience, and curvature flow across systems.
