Insights from the Management of Acute Polymyositis : A Case Report

Polymyositis, a type of idiopathic inflammatory myopathy is an autoimmune condition that causes painful mobility resulting in significant morbidity. It is often diagnosed by elevated serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK), Electromyography (EMG), and radiologic tests like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Intensive immunosuppressive therapy with steroids and steroid-sparing agents help in managing the disease and in attaining quick disease remission.
