THE IMPACT OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON PROJECT SUCCESS AT THE DEEG-ROOR MEDICAL ORGANIZATION (DMO) IN BAIDOA DISTRICT.

Abstract Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) play a critical role in enhancing project success by improving efficiency, decision-making, and resource management. This study examines the impact of PMIS on project success at the Deeg-Roor Medical Organization (DMO) in Baidoa District, Somalia. The research explores how PMIS influences project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as the challenges associated with its implementation. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected through surveys and interviews with project managers, employees, and IT professionals at DMO. The findings indicate that PMIS significantly enhances project performance by streamlining communication, improving data accuracy, and optimizing resource allocation. However, challenges such as limited technical expertise, inadequate training, and system integration issues hinder the full realization of PMIS benefits. The study highlights the need for improved training programs, stronger IT infrastructure, and better stakeholder engagement to maximize the effectiveness of PMIS in project management. Recommendations include investing in user capacity-building, enhancing system functionality, and developing policies that support digital project management solutions. These findings provide valuable insights for organizations, policymakers, and project managers aiming to improve project outcomes through effective use of PMIS in Somalia.
