Magic Glove: A Sign Language to Voice Conversion System with IoT Integration

The advancement of assistive technologies is enabling more inclusive communication methods for individuals with speech and hearing impairments. This paper presents the design and implementation of an intelligent wearable device Magic Glove that translates sign language gestures into audible speech. Utilizing flex sensor technology and a microcontroller-based processing unit, the system identifies hand gestures, converts them into corresponding text, and delivers voice output via a text-to-speech module. Additionally, the glove is integrated with an Internet of Things (IoT) platform, enabling gesture-based control of smart home appliances. The proposed system demonstrates low-cost implementation, real-time responsiveness, and high user adaptability. It provides a viable solution for enhancing accessibility and expands the application of gesture recognition into smart environments.
