Mentor Initiatives to Address Social Isolation: Enhancing Engagement and Prosocial Behaviour Among Students
Mentorship initiatives in academic settings have emerged as an effective strategy to address student isolation, enhance engagement, and foster prosocial behavior. This research investigates the impact of mentorship programs on reducing social isolation and promoting constructive social behaviors among college students. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of 150 students from various departments. Results indicate a strong correlation between effective mentorship and students' sense of belonging, social well-being, and willingness to participate in prosocial activities. Recommendations are made for implementing structured, inclusive, and sustainable mentorship models to enhance the college environment.
