APPLYING ARCHITECTURAL RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND IT SOLUTIONS TO TRANSFORM SPACES FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

The transformation of healthcare facilities today extends beyond the physical structure—it demands a reevaluation of systems, communication, and the user experience. This article explores how information technology (IT) solutions can aid in transforming existing healthcare environments into more inclusive and responsive spaces through the application of architectural research methodology. Using The Republican Center for the Social Adaptation of Children as a case study, the analysis combines site evaluation, stakeholder dialogue, and a SWOT assessment of the facility's current state. The survey revealed both positive aspects and significant deficiencies, emphasizing the urgent need for better communication systems, coordination mechanisms, and modern technological integration at the center. Architecture acts as an intermediary, shaping both physical spaces and social connections. The research recommends implementing a digital networking system that allows parents/guardians to connect with healthcare staff and real-time care coordination within the facility. The research demonstrates that combining architectural studies with IT solutions offers an effective approach to enhancing physiotherapy environments, making them more adaptable, accessible and effective.
