SYoS Workshop no 514 November 202409:15 – 15:15 University of FribourgFribourg, 1700 The workshop will discuss the topic of the 5th SYoS Lecture in more depth. Questions such as the following will be discussed: To which extent can bibliometric indicators be used to assess quality? What are the risks of using bibliometric indicators to assess quality?Which bibliometric indicators are most likely to reflect quality, which are not? When is it or will it be problematic to use bibliometric indicators to assess quality?Which other aspects or indicators should be taken into account when qualitative indicators are used to assess quality? We are very pleased that Dr Regine Maritz (University of Fribourg) has agreed to chair this workshop and that several colleagues have agreed to give lightning talks at the beginning of the workshop: Dr Barbara S. Lancho Barrantes (University of Brighton, Chair of the LIS Bibliometrics Committee)Prof. José Luis Aznarte Mellado (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain ANECA)Bianca Kramer (Sesame Open Science) and Jeroen Bosman (Utrecht University)
