This paper presents an independent scientific validation of the article Unification of Gravity and Electromagnetism in Weyl Geometry [Lindgren et al.(2025)Lindgren, Kovacs, and Liukkonen], accompanied by a formal response to public commentary by Dr. Sabine Hossenfelder. The original paper proposes a geometric unification scheme embedding the electromagnetic potential directly into a modified spacetime connection via Weyl geometry. Dr. Hossenfelder's video critique raises significant concerns regarding mathematical formulation, physical plausibility, and gauge consistency. We systematically assess these concerns using symbolic tensor validation methods, independently reproducing derivations and confirming multiple index errors, violations of gauge invariance, and unphysical assumptions regarding particle trajectories. Each major claim in the original work is reviewed alongside Sabine's critique and examined through the lens of differential geometry and symbolic algebra. For illustrative contrast, the Dodecahedron Linear String Field Hypothesis (DLSFH) and its coherence mechanism (MC) are referenced-not as replacements, but to show how specific flaws may be resolved within discrete, topologically grounded field theories. These models maintain charge selectivity, distinguish massless from massive dynamics, and preserve gauge-invariant structures by construction. This work affirms the importance of transparent peer critique and reproducible verification in theoretical physics. It supports reformulations that uphold physical consistency, mathematical rigor, and compatibility with experimental observations, and aims to contribute constructively to the advancement of unified field theory. Scope and Objectivity This report presents an independent and scientifically grounded analysis of the paper Unification of Gravity and Electromagnetism in Weyl Geometry (Lindgren, 2025), incorporating commentary by Dr. Sabine Hossenfelder. The objective of this study is not to discredit but to critically assess the mathematical consistency and physical plausibility of the proposed theory. Where appropriate, symbolic verification using tensor algebra tools (SymPy) has been performed to test key derivations.
