Indian Knowledge Tradition in Vaidic Period Literature to the Contemporary Indian English Drama: An Overview

Abstract: The New Education Policy 2020 establishes a foundation for the development of indigenous languages. NEP has made room for skill-based education, Nirbhya Bharat, and Digital India, while Lord Macaulay's educational system introduced the Western educational system and an examination-oriented structure. Naturally, English will be the universal language in NEP. India is going to be a multilingual and multicultural nation. In the past, India was renowned for its immense knowledge and tradition, but in more recent times, Indians have fled to other countries in quest of employment and luxury, as seen by the weak tendency towards India. Students will now be aware of our rich traditions and historic wisdom in this area. The history and evolution of Indian English drama are examined in this essay. When British rule in India stabilised in the 12th, 17th, and 18th centuries, Indian English drama began.
