Evaluating the Administrative Functions of School Heads with Principal Item: An Analysis of Differences as Appraised by Teachers
The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant difference in the administrative functions of school heads when grouped according to rank or position. This study used the descriptive-comparative research design. The respondents of this study were the 82 teachers of Marilog District, Davao City Division. The researcher used Tabachnick and Fidell's (2022) formula, n = 50 + 8(m), where m represents the total number of independent variables included in the study, to select the respondents. The gathered data were analyzed and interpreted using statistical tools, including frequency and percentage, mean, and One-way ANOVA. The results revealed that the majority of school heads held the rank of Principal I, followed by Principal II, and Principal III, while the least number of respondents had the rank of Principal IV. Moreover, on the level of administrative functions of school heads, in terms of student personnel administration, staff personnel administration, school-community relations, and management of school finances, the level was high, which meant that it was often evident. Lastly, there is a significant difference in the level of administrative functions of school heads when grouped according to their rank or position. The computed F-value and p-value of 0.000 indicated a statistically significant difference between the variables. Thus, it is recommended that School heads should continuously engage in capacity-building programs and leadership development activities to improve their administrative functions further.
