DEEPFAKE TECHNOLOGY: CHALLENGES, DETECTION, AND FUTURE DIRECTIONS
Abstract: Deepfake technology, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning, enables the creation of highly realistic synthetic media, including images, videos, and audio. While it offers advancements in entertainment, education, and accessibility, it also introduces severe risks, such as misinformation, identity fraud, and cybersecurity threats. The rapid development of deepfake generation techniques necessitates robust detection mechanisms and regulatory frameworks. This paper provides an overview of deepfake technology, its working principles, associated risks, detection methodologies, and potential future solutions to ensure ethical and responsible use.
