DEVELOPING GENE-CIRCUIT-CONTROLLED MICROBIAL COMMUNITIES TO PRECISELY MODULATE HOST IMMUNE RESPONSES FOR PERSONALIZED THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS
Emerging advances in synthetic biology have enabled the engineering of microbial communities with embedded gene circuits capable of sensing and responding to host physiological signals. This paper explores the development of gene-circuit-controlled microbes designed to modulate immune responses with precision, particularly for use in personalized therapeutic contexts. By programming these microbes to deliver specific immune-modulating molecules in response to inflammation or infection markers, it is possible to fine-tune immune pathways and achieve therapeutic specificity. The paper evaluates engineered gene circuit dynamics, immune signaling feedback, and efficacy in preclinical models, laying a foundation for future microbiome-based immunotherapies.
