The effect of emergency preparedness on response Strategies at General Aviation Aden-Adde Airport in Mogadishu-Somalia.
Airports play a key role in the vital national aviation infrastructure and are necessary for regular business operations in their local communities. They are vulnerable because they are immovable, publicly accessible facilities, which has effectively made them even more crucial during and after a disaster Smith (2010). Air travel has become essential for ensuring the efficient and economical transfer of products and services, whatever the value of passengers carried. The probable effects of an incident affecting an airport that involves numerous individuals using airport infrastructure are always growing. Airport emergencies can be caused by a variety of things, from mechanical issues to even human-related events like terrorism, with the latter occurring most frequently. The effects of a calamity are frequently enormous. Disasters happen often all around the world, and according to UNISDR and UNOCHA (2008), it appears that both their frequency and severity have been rising recently.
