THE ROLE OF LANGUAGE AND INTONATION IN SOCIAL STATUS REPRESENTATION
Abstract The article explores the role of language and intonation in the construction and representation of social status within communicative and political discourse. Drawing on the theoretical works of V.I. Karasik, P. Bourdieu, R.M. Blakar and Kazakh researchers, the author analyzes how linguistic and phonetic features reflect power relations. The study reveals that intonation and lexical choices serve as tools of influence and markers of identity, especially in political and academic contexts. The findings contribute to the understanding of linguistic mechanisms behind social stratification and power performance.
