JOB CONTRACTORS' EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY OF SELECTED QUICK-SERVICE RESTAURANTS IN LAGUNA
This quantitative causal (regression) research study aimed was to determine the level of job contractors’ efficiency and the level of productivity in selected QSRs in Laguna. The incidental sampling method identified 74 respondents based on a 0.361 effect size with 95% level of confidence through G*Power from the managers of QSRs. Researcher-made questionnaires were used to gather data based on the mentioned theories. These had a Lawshe’s Content Validity Ratio of 1.00 and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients of 0.943 for job contractors’ efficiency and 0.964 for QSRs’ productivity. Frequency, Four-Point Likert Scale, Mean, Pearson’s r, and Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. The study found that job contractors' efficiency was rated as Efficient, with turnover rate, job satisfaction, and labor cost having means of 3.05, 3.19, and 2.97, respectively. Managers assessed the productivity level of QSRs as Efficient in terms of responsiveness, quality of work, and cost-effectiveness, with means of 3.03, 3.08, and 3.07, respectively. Significant relationships were identified, with probability values of .000, all below the significance level of P<0.05. Turnover rates and labor costs impacted responsiveness, with probability values of .005 and .000, respectively. Job satisfaction and labor costs influenced the quality of work, with probability values of .006 and .000, respectively. Labor costs affected cost-effectiveness, with a probability value of .000, all of which were less than the level of significance at P<.05. To further enhance efficiency and productivity, the study proposed a training and development program for job contractors' team leaders.
