TRANSFORMING HOMOEOPATHIC PRACTICE: EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS ON PATIENT OUTCOMES AND CLINICAL EFFICIENCY

AbstractBackgroundThe integration of Electronic Health Records (EHR) in homoeopathic practice has the potential toimprove patient care, operational efficiency, and treatment outcomes. Despite widespread adoption inconventional medicine, EHR utilization in homoeopathy remains underexplored.ObjectiveThis study evaluates the impact of EHR implementation on operational and clinical metrics in ahomoeopathic clinical setting, focusing on parameters such as appointment wait times, patientsatisfaction, medication adherence, treatment success rates, and recovery times.MethodsA retrospective observational design was employed, analyzing data from 223 patients diagnosed withanxiety, allergic rhinitis, migraine, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Metrics from pre- and post-EHR periods were compared using paired t-tests and one-way ANOVA, with significance set at P <0.05.ResultsEHR implementation reduced appointment wait times by 8.92 minutes (P < 0.05), increased patientsatisfaction scores by 3.58 points (P < 0.05), and improved medication adherence rates by 14.54% (P< 0.05). Treatment success rates increased modestly, particularly for anxiety (+6%) and PCOS(+2.8%), while allergic rhinitis recovery times improved significantly (-4.78 days). Migraine outcomesshowed minor declines, highlighting potential limitations in EHR applicability for complexneurological conditions.DiscussionEHR enhanced operational efficiency, improved patient engagement, and facilitated evidence-basedpractice. Variations in condition-specific outcomes suggest a need for tailored EHR modules.Challenges in implementation and condition-specific insights were also addressed.ConclusionEHR integration modernizes homoeopathic practice, fostering personalized care and operationalefficiency. Future research should focus on refining EHR systems to maximize clinical benefits andaddress condition-specific challenges.
