DIAGNOSTIC APPROACHES AND PREVENTION OF MORPHOFUNCTIONAL TRANSFORMATION IN NASAL ALAE FURUNCLES
Nasal alae furuncles, predominantly caused by Staphylococcus aureus, can lead to significant complications such as orbital cellulitis and cavernous sinus thrombosis if untreated or improperly managed. This article reviews diagnostic approaches, treatment strategies, and preventive measures to mitigate the morphofunctional transformation of nasal alae furuncles. Effective management requires timely diagnosis using clinical examinations and imaging, coupled with medical and surgical interventions tailored to the severity of the condition. Preventive strategies, including hygiene practices, management of predisposing factors like diabetes, and the use of MRSA-targeted antibiotics, play a pivotal role in reducing recurrence and complications. Future directions involve the integration of biosensor technologies and personalized medical approaches for improved diagnosis and prevention. A multidisciplinary strategy is essential to restore both aesthetic and functional integrity in affected patients.
