THE INDIVIDUAL TRAINING PLAN IN VOCATIONAL INSTITUTES: A BRIDGE BETWEEN PERSONALIZED LEARNING AND EMPLOYABILITY
The Individual Training Plan (PFI) is a central component of vocational education, fostering personalized learning that integrates theory and practice. It aims to meet students' educational needs, enhance their skills and aptitudes, and facilitate their entry into the job market. This study analyzes the effectiveness of the PFI in Italian Vocational Institutes, adopting a quantitative approach based on questionnaires administered to students. The results indicate that the PFI improves academic performance, enhances post-diploma employability, and strengthens the link between education and the productive sector, aligning with the theories of situated learning (Lave & Wenger, 1991) and experiential learning (Kolb, 1984). However, some challenges emerge, such as organizational difficulties, obstacles in personalizing learning paths, and the need for greater initial support for students. To optimize its implementation, this study suggests enhancing the use of technology for individual monitoring, fostering greater collaboration between schools and businesses, and introducing a more structured tutoring system. The analysis aligns with the regulatory framework of Legislative Decree 61/2017, which governs the personalization of vocational education in Italy. The study highlights the potential of the PFI as a key tool to bridge the gap between education and the job market, promoting a more flexible and future-oriented learning system.
