Data Management Plans - more than an administrative burden
This presentation has been prepared for an introductory webinar on data management plans at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. It covers definition as well as key components of a data management plan (DMP), including data collection, documentation, storage, and sharing practices. Researchers without previous experience on DMPs will gain insights into key elements of DMPs. Real world examples concerning funding requirements from Austrian and EU funding agencies are provided. These practical applications of DMPs showcase how they can mitigate risks and improve project outcomes. By the end of the webinar, participants will be equipped with the basic knowledge and tools to develop effective DMPs, transforming data management from a perceived administrative task into a powerful component of their research strategy. This presentation may be subject to updates in future.
