CAUZALITATEA DEGRADĂRII BIOLOGICE ASUPRA CĂRȚII DE PATRIMONIU ȘI ROLUL RESTAURĂRII

Summary. Paper and the constituent elements of books in the conditions of an inadequatemicroclimate, can represent an environment conducive to the development of the biological factor.Certain relative humidity values that cannot be ensured to the book stock, often lead to extremelyserious degradations, major loss of support through the appearance of mold and a number of fungi.Pigmentations are produced on the paper, which, in addition to making the support unsightly, can lead to the legibility of the written information, paper friability, pulverization, fragmentation, lossof written information, displacement of the tabs from the volume when the biological attack is deepand in the sewing area . The inadequate environment will result in the appearance of another type ofbiological degradation, this time produced by insects. The reproduction of the exhibition circuit of the book volumes is realized through an extensiverestoration process, the degradations produced by it and their severity, being the most common in aranking of the degradations recorded by the book.Key words: book, degradation, microorganisms, insects, restoration
