LONG-TERM RESULTS OF REMOVABLE PROSTHETICS SUPPORTED BY IMPLANTS
Restoring chewing function with various types of prostheses in cases of partial tooth loss remains an important task in orthopedic dentistry. The presence of defects in the dental arch leads to disruptions in the integrity of the dental row and the emergence of morphofunctional changes in the dentoalveolar system, initially occurring near the defect and subsequently spreading throughout the entire dental row. This results in vertical movement and tilting of teeth adjacent to the defect, loss of antagonists, overloading of the remaining teeth, occlusion disturbances, and changes in the temporomandibular joint. The altered functional conditions of the teeth cause metabolic restructuring, which depends on the strength of the chewing load.
