D5.1 - Survey analysis for social acceptance

This document provides the results and analysis of the survey implemented in task 5.1 survey for social acceptance. We provide first an introduction on the survey and describe our methodology. The core part of the deliverable constitutes the analysis of the data collected; these are based on a total of more than 400 stakeholders, who have accessed the survey and 251 full responses. Finally, we derive conclusions from the data. The objectives of the survey are: · The survey should help to assess knowledge about current modes of recycling of PV panels, on recovery of RM, on environmental concerns with RM recovery, and generate recommendations for the project implementation. · Besides this information gathering aspect, the survey should raise awareness on the project and its planned results among the stakeholder groups. · The target audience of the survey was specified as users and key stakeholders from energy and electronic sectors such as utilities, recyclers, public institutions, energy agencies and cooperatives, researchers, EC, EU initiatives in the field (e.g. PV Tech Platform, KIC InnoEnergy). We planned to invite at least 1,000 users and stakeholders to the survey, whereby project partners were expected to support the dissemination of the survey. · The survey was planned to be short, 10-15 min duration to stimulate stakeholders to answer all questions and not to drop out quickly. · The survey questionnaire was set-up online via “limesurvey” tool by ZSI. The questionnaire was reviewed first by the coordinator and then pre-tested by the consortium ZSI used mostly closed questions and included at least one open question for gathering suggestions from stakeholders.
