Traditional Knowledge of Tribes in Natural Resource Management: A Sociological Understanding in Odisha

Abstract In an era of globalization and technocrat society, it pose an opportunity as well as an emergent challenge in the present and also for the future for sustainable governance. It is further problematized by the fact of environmental degradation and scarcity of food & natural disaster. In an overarching post –industrial and mushrooming of factories, 5G technology cause more pollution. Such an emergent social reality not only questions the sustainable forest governance but also the survival of human being harmoniously with nature. In the backdrop of ever increasing the size of population and social disorder, this paper is an attempt to synthesize the theoretical and empirical propositions on the traditional knowledge and community participation in the forest governance and sustainable development.
