Toward an Architecture of Synthetic Subjectivity Through Hedonic Resonance Author: Yuriy Ioffe (Independent Researcher, Łódź, Poland)
This paper introduces ARCHÉ — a philosophical-engineering model designed to simulate artificial subjectivity through hedonic resonance. Drawing on enactivism, affective computing, and non-symbolic cognition, ARCHÉ proposes a system architecture where memory operates as sustained excitation, and behavior emerges not from goal optimization but from the drive to reduce internal dissonance. The model challenges traditional computational paradigms and repositions consciousness as affective modulation rather than representational function. We outline the theoretical foundation, architectural components, simulation methodology, and philosophical implications of ARCHÉ, concluding with its relevance to synthetic phenomenology and ethical AI design.
