Synergistic Activity of Krishnadi Churna: A GC-MS Analysis and Its Implications in Tamaka Shwasa Management
Krishnadi Churna, a classical Ayurvedic formulation , has been traditionally used for the management of Tamaka Shwasa (bronchial asthma). The present study employs Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to identify the bioactive compounds in Krishnadi Churna and evaluates their potential synergistic role in accordance with the Ayurvedic principle of Kinchit Kaphaghnam Ushna Vatanulomanam. The identified compounds suggest a multifaceted approach to addressing the pathophysiology of Tamaka Shwasa, emphasizing the role of Ushna (hot potency) and Vatanulomana (normalization of Vata movement). The study discusses the need for synergistic activity in polyherbal formulations and its relevance in enhancing therapeutic efficacy.
