HARD SWITCHING-BASED HYBRID ZETA CONVERTER WITH INDUCTANCE BLOCK FOR EFFICIENT EV BATTERY CHARGING
Converters are crucial in various applications, including electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. Power electronic converters are essential to managing EV charging efficiently. This paper explores a hybrid Zeta converter designed to convert AC input power into a DC output suitable for EV batteries, with both step-up and step-down functionality. The proposed converter combines the features of a traditional Zeta converter with newly designed elements to enhance performance, reduce power losses, and improve efficiency compared to other converter types. The proposed hybrid Zeta AC-DC converter achieves higher efficiency, reduced size, and improved reliability by integrating traditional and inductance block topologies. The hybrid converter features a series of DC link inductors to stabilize the output voltage. The converter efficiently regulates EV battery charging by adjusting the switch duty cycles, achieving lower THD and a higher input power factor.
