COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND RISK COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES FOR INDOOR RADON SAFETY IN URBAN UZBEKISTAN
Radon is an invisible and odorless radioactive gas that emerges naturally from the breakdown of uranium found in soil, rock, and groundwater. As it migrates upward through the earth, radon can infiltrate residential buildings through unsealed floors, wall joints, or utility gaps. Prolonged indoor exposure to elevated radon levels is a well-documented cause of lung cancer, particularly among individuals who have never smoked.
